2019 National Home Show & Canada Blooms Highlights

It’s a great time to head out to the National Home Show / Canada Blooms to check out the latest in home improvement inspiration, as well as to research, shop for products and services, and connect with contractors. We were there on opening day, and we’re convinced that this has been one of the show’s finest presentations.

Here are some of our highlights and points of interest from the 2019 National Home Show / Canada Blooms.

This game-changing raised gardening system will inspire even the most luckless would be gardener, and all three sizes are on display in the Canada Blooms section of the show.

Vegepod is a self-watering gardening system that features a commercial grade, hinged canopy (to keep pests, weeds and bugs out), a water wicking bed, and a mist spray irrigator among many other exciting features. It presents an amazing way for people in houses and condos to enjoy fresh, homegrown vegetables without all of the toil that usually goes into it.

The Bonneville Dream Home –The Alexis

The Alexis is this year’s Bonneville Dream Home. It’s a beautiful, 2-storey, 2,000 square foot home featuring a 32-foot expanse of windows, high ceilings, and exposed wood beams. It has a very open and airy feel that makes you feel like you’re spending a day at the cottage.

Backyard Fun

This year, there were a few different displays intended to inspire backyard fun. In addition to the always popular trampoline booth, we saw a backyard bocce court, and displays of various game sets ups like giant chess, giant Jenga, beanbag toss boards and backyard tic tac toe.

It’s exciting to see this theme for the family backyard. While landscaping and gorgeous pools are always a pleasure to see, we really like to see this heightened focus on fun.

Engaging Speakers

Celebrity speakers are always a highlight at the National Home Show / Canada Blooms. There’s nothing like listening to firsthand advice from some of the Canadian industry’s best and brightest designers, builders, and gardening experts. We’re heading back to the show to listen to some of our favourites like Paul Lafrance, Linda Mazur, and Kate Davidson.

The national Home Show / Canada Blooms is on now until Sunday, March 17th. Head out now, and get ready to give your home its best seasonal update ever!
