I built a shed in my backyard last fall but didn’t get a chance to apply a coat of stain to the exterior pine boards before the cold set in. Now portions are covered in black… I never was a great painter, and I wasn’t sure how to get rid of them, so I posted a pic of the shed on the Facebook page of the magazine Pro Painter to see if anyone could help.
Within minutes, I got a couple of ideas, and within a day seven professional painters offered the advice I needed and then some. I’ve decided pressure washing with a water and vinegar mix works for me. And I learned three things: What I thought was going to be a big problem was not, there are professionals out there that are happy to offer advice to the average homeowner, and this interweb thing doesn’t always have to be a complete waste of time!
