Celebrity interior designer Rebecca Hay offers a glimpse of two TIFF’s most stylish lounges.
If you ever wanted to be a part of film culture, some of the cities TIFF lounges are where to be; it’s the place to see and be seen. I had the unique opportunity to get a taste of all TIFF has to offer. Two of the longest standing and notable lounges are both NKPR’s the IT HOUSE x PRODUCERS BALL. And Suite On The Sixth
NKPR lounge this year held in Live Nation’s “The Lounge” in popular Liberty Village from September 6-8 it’s a captivating and entertaining space filled with unique experiences and activities. It’s a collaboration with Scott Brothers Entertainment (The Property Brothers!) and offers a nice retreat from the hustle of the festival. It celebrates the best of the film industry and this year includes a Rolling Stone celebrity portrait studio where guests and party goers can pose for the front cover and even create “boomerang style” photos!
There are also loads of sponsors including Hounds Vodka, offering a new sexy black vodka cocktail, gorgeous Swarovski jewelry and Lise Watier cosmetics. Another fun activity includes your very own glam photoshoot donning Swarovski jewels with their latest Crystal Tales Collection. Photos are then promptly emailed direct to your inbox! This lounge is a social media dream. Tonnes of amazing products and instagram worthy moments.
More than just fun, this is also where celebrities can be spotted. Guests have included Mila Kunis, Natalie Portman, Dev Patel, Donald Glover, Daniel Radcliffe or Colin Firth. Although I didn’t get a chance to see any of these noteworthy celebs I know that others will be gracing those chairs in the days ahead.
A second hot spot many celebs will be visiting is also one of the most coveted gifting lounges, Suite on the Sixth (formerly Tastemakers), returned this year from September 5 – 8.
This suite also has lots of goodies for stars and influencers. Visitors can sample everything from Lindt Chocolate , Loreal Makeup to Bogs family footwear to Canadian Perth Soap Co.’s luscious lotions. My favourite goody was the Crumps’ Naturals dog food. My dog Bailey can’t get enough of it, and it’s a bonus that the ingredients are all natural!
Continuing the event’s charitable mandate, Suite on the Sixth supports Leave Out Violence (LOVE), an organization devoted to helping youth who are challenged by many forms of violence to build the skills and confidence necessary to change their lives and communities.
Guests have an opportunity to show their support this year by autographing a large display board that will later be given to LOVE for auction. Suite on the Sixth will also donate $50 for each signature on the board, up to $10,000. What a great concept!
What a great opportunity to share the work this organization does with the difficult times we are experiencing with violence in Toronto lately it is lovely to see this support and awareness given on this noteworthy organization.
This year the top gifting lounges, truly are all about giving as well as getting!
