Joanne of our very own EiEi Home family has decided to undertake a backyard renovation!
Behold the before shot. (Now we know why she’s getting it done!) Note how her lovely green lawn is untouched by shovels, stone or dirt.
Her lawn didn’t stay pristine for long, after days of planning with landscaping company Dreamscape Design the supply truck finally pulled up in front of her house. This is what 85,000 pounds of stone looks like from Arnt’s Top Soil of Pickering, Ontario.
Joanne had a fence panel turned into a gate to access the forest behind her home. However, now that it’s open it is also how the coyotes get in.
After the rocks were delivered and the gate removed for better access, the landscaper went hard to work in a Bobcat to remove the turf (and weeds) from the back of Joanne’s yard to ready it for the large stone installation ahead. Here you can see the before and after shots of the yard.
Afterwards they moved in all the stone to the backyard. Notice the lovely tractor marks in the yard from the machinery that hauled in the stone.
Before Dreamscape could begin to lay the stone they had to cover the ground with some tarp and draw a sketch of the shape of the new raised patio that will be built.
Do you have any tips, comments or suggestions for Joanne? We’d love to hear from you and be sure to join us next time to see the patio take shape.
