The National Home Show and Canada Blooms

The National Home Show, presented by RE/MAX, co-located with Canada Blooms, took place at the Enercare Centre from March 9th to March 18th and like every year, the event was a huge success.

The team at eieihome had the privilege of attending the event and take in the latest trends in home technology and décor, as well as experience the beauty and awe that is Canada Blooms. If you weren’t able to make it to the show this year, here’s a recap of some of out favourite experiences and sights at the show.

Smart Home with Best Buy

Presented by Google Home, Best Buy offers smart home products that make life easier, simpler and safer. From smart lighting, thermostats and appliances, security cameras and more, Google Home allows you to do almost everything in your home. Best Buy is also known for selling innovative products in their Smart Home collection like; Nest thermostats and Arlo Home Security.

Angeline Dream Home Presented by Bonneville Homes

Once again, the National Home Show built a dream home inside the the Enercare Centre, equipped with modern and beautiful features and finishes. With seamless entry points between the kitchen and garage, and a multi use kitchen island and tables, visitors were taking a variety of pictures, gathering inspiration for their own home projects.

Celebrity Stage

Both the National Home Show and Canada Blooms host stages to allow visitors to listen in on informative talks and ask any questions they may have about an upcoming project or the guests themselves. Experts who graced the stage included Paul LaFrance, Damon Bennett, Chris Palmer, Janice Fedak and Frankie Ferragine (a.k.a Frankie Flowers).

“Let’s Go to the Movies”

This year, Canada Blooms really outdid themselves with the theme, “Let’s Go to the Movies”. With floral displays that were inspired by Hollywood, the 22nd annual flower and garden festival did not disappoint. Some of our favourite displays included the Disney Princess dresses that were designed by a variety of different floral artists, the giant popcorn display that welcomed guests and last but not least the garden display designed by Aquaspa Pools & Landscape Design entitled, “Movies By the Pool”.

Highway of Heroes Tribute Garden

Included in Canada Blooms, along Floral Alley was the Genoscape Highway of Hereos Tribute Garden. Not only was this a beautiful garden but the newspaper clippings available throughout the garden teamed with the music from bagpipes was an emotional and sentimental display.

Eat and Entertain

This year, the home show was not only a place for home and garden but also for dining and entertaining tips and tricks. Presented by TLN, visitors were able to sample and savour a variety of beer and wine samples, as well as enjoy mixology lessons with Toronto’s very own Barchef, it was a booth that was constantly buzzing with excitement.
