We spent the weekend at the Enercare Centre taking in the sights (and flavours) of The National Home Show and Canada Blooms Show, and …wow! All we can say is that these shows get better and better every year. In fact, there was so much to see this year that one day just wasn’t enough. We had to go back! We may go back yet again this coming weekend…and it’s not just for the Beavertails and butter chicken-topped fried mac and cheese, we promise.
The guest speakers on the Main Stage and the Idea Stage were incredibly informative and engaging this year. We learned about Clutterbusting and Green Cleaning from Kate Seaver & Maggie McKeown and heard about Savvy Storage Solutions from Janice Fedak. The venerable Mark Cullen introduced us to The New Canadian Garden and Carolyn Planck talked about How to Hire the Right Contractor.
In between shows we must have walked the Enercare Centre from end to end, top to bottom at least a dozen times! Here’s what we saw.
Beautiful Kitchen Designs
There was definitely no shortage of kitchen inspiration at the show this year. We saw everything from gorgeous kitchen cabinets to marvelous marble counter tops and beautiful backslashes.
Fun Finishes
Tired of plain, white subway tile? The Home Show has the answer with vibrantly coloured and patterned tile, sparkle-encrusted cabinet hardware and a lovely Frozen-themed bedroom that any little princess would adore!
A Tiny House!
Have you ever wondered just how tiny those tiny houses really are? Head out to the National Home Show and take a tour of this adorable little abode from The Tiny House Construction Company.
Gorgeous Gardens and Outdoor Décor
The gardens featured in this year’s Canada Blooms Show were simply magical. Everything from an Alice in Wonderland themed garden, to a band made of cork, a carnival of colour and more! Not to be outdone, the National Home Show’s outdoor living booths were a true feast for the eyes.
There were so many amazing sights to see at this year’s National Home Show and Canada Blooms Show that we can’t possibly share all of the pictures in this post. If you’d like to see more, take a look at our National Home Show/Canada Blooms Show album on Facebook!
Don’t forget – if you haven’t been to this year’s National Home Show yet, you still have another week!
