The great thing about awesome ideas is, unless you’re going for a patent, you don’t have to come up with them yourself. Social media is the modern meeting place for ideas, and all the different networks serve different functions. Check out Pinterest. You don’t have to be a member, but if you do decide to sign up, it’s free. Pinterest is super visual, and each “board” contains a ton of “pins” – which are photos with descriptions, links and all kinds of other information.
Just type “Halloween” or “haunted house” or anything that screams spooky into the search bar – and start searching other people’s boards for pins you like. From there, the spooky ideas will come to life!
DIY: Arts and Crafts, Spooky Style
Unless you’re independently wealthy, you can’t afford to dump a ton of cash into your love of Halloween decorations. The classic ghost costume, however, proves that you can do more with what’s laying around your house on Halloween than on virtually any other holiday. But what if DIY isn’t your bag?
Again, that’s why you have the Internet.
Join some arts and crafts blogs. Artsy DIYers just love the holidays. Use their experience and creativity and apply it to the things you already have according to your skill level.
On Halloween, you can go totally over the top without going over budget. An entire Halloween home remodeling project can be done in a day – without spending a ton of money at specialty stores. Save your money for an off-season home improvement project. On Halloween, don’t be afraid to pilfer ideas from those who have come before. From there, add your own spin and get creative!
