Renovating? Check out the GTA Home and Reno Show

If you’re looking for unique ideas or expert advice for your next home renovation, visit the GTA Home and Reno Show.

The Show runs from February 17 to 20 at the International Centre in Mississauga and features more than 300 exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services for home renovation or repair.

One of the Show’s many exciting features is the Handyman’s Corner where Canada’s Handyman Shawn Monteith will share renovation tips and tricks with aspiring do-it-yourselfers. It’s a great way to learn about things like painting, grouting or drywall repair. Every day features a number of unique sessions.

You’ll find plenty more celebrities and seminars at the Show on the Casalife Main Stage. There’s always something happening on the stage, so check out the full schedule at www.gtahomeandrenoshow.com. Seminars cover everything from maximizing the space inside your home to boosting your home’s resale value.

There will be plenty of famous faces on stage this year including Design Duo Colin and Justin, HGTV’s renovation expert and Dragon’s Den contestant Damon Bennett and Cityline’s DIY and design expert Leigh-Ann Allaire Perreault.

If you’re thinking about renovating don’t miss the Five Steps to a Successful Renovation seminar on the Casalife Main Stage on Saturday, February 18 at noon. Two professional RenoMark renovators will walk through the five essential steps to renovating, share expert advice and answer audience questions. It’s a great way to learn about planning a renovation, including what to look for when hiring a renovator and what to do if you need a building permit.

Another great source of professional renovation advice at the Show is Destination Renovation. This is BILD’s exhibit at the Show and features a team of RenoMark renovators sharing their expertise and offering free renovation tips. Come prepared with photos, sketches and floor plans.

Destination Renovation is also a great place to learn about the national RenoMark program and how it can help you find professional renovators, trade contractors and custom builders. The program was created by BILD in Toronto in 2001 and is now available across Canada. To learn more or to find a renovator, visit www.renomark.ca.

What sets RenoMark renovators apart is their commitment to a Code of Conduct which includes things like providing a written contract for all jobs, offering a minimum two-year warranty and having at least $2 million worth of liability insurance.

Tickets for the GTA Home and Reno Show can be purchased online at www.gtahomeandrenoshow.com. Use the SUN1 promo code and save $5 off the regular purchase price, exclusively for my Toronto Sun readers. Just a reminder that parking at the International Centre is free.

I hope you enjoy the Show.
