Setting a beautiful holiday table

There is nothing like a beautifully set table. Maybe, because proper table-setting isn’t something that happens very much anymore. For many families, mealtime has moved into the living room, or happens individually to accommodate different schedules in the family. However, special holiday meals present an opportunity to bring out the good dinnerware and create something spectacular.

Here is a selection of some absolutely beautiful tablescapes we discovered on the absolutely magnificent holiday home tour from Jennifer Rizzo and Wayfair. If you’re looking for holiday décor inspiration, this home tour is filled to the brim with beautiful!

The Holiday Blues

Blue is really standing on its own this year as a holiday colour. Not only is it the preferred choice for Hanukah celebrants, but it also works nicely with many of the home décor trends from 2016. Here is a look at some of the internet’s most breathtaking blue holiday tables.

Simple and Pretty

We love the look of this little round table. With so many of the holiday tables we see feature large, traditional rectangles, it’s nice to see something pretty and petite. The subtle colour palette quietly whispers holiday, and the little deer are an especially delightful touch.

Gloriously Gold

This table by Jeanne Oliver demonstrates a really well thought out way to create something festive and formal-looking, while maintaining a clean, unencumbered sense of restraint. Of course the gold accents absolutely make this tablescape. From the gold flatware to the dipped candle holders, this table is easily one of our favourites.

All about those glasses

The entire table by Rooms for Rent is subtle and lovely, but it’s those blue glasses that really pull the whole thing together.

Back to Nature

Holiday tablescapes that pull inspiration from nature have a special charm all their own. The feel homey and inviting. It’s a look that appears to be effortless; although we know that pulling off a truly successful rustic holiday table often requires a good deal of planning and hard work. Here are some stunning examples.

Natural Accents

This holiday table from Nina Hendrick is filled with rustic charm. The greenery runner with its entangled LED lights really sets the stage. It’s almost like dining in an enchanted forest.

Traditional with a Twist

The addition of artichokes adds an element of surprise to this beautifully traditional tablescape…And let’s not forget those accent plates! How fantastic are those? Very nice.
