There was a plan. “First, we installed new cupboard doors—shaker style in a rich colour with modern, brushed nickel handles. Matching toe kicks were added. The cupboards surrounding the fridge and microwave were built forward. We installed under-cabinet lighting, and a valence to match the new cabinetry. The insides of the cupboards were given a new, white peel-and-stick coat.
The granite countertop came with an undermount sink. Finally, the stainless steel backsplash was put up. We love the shine of the granite and the reflective touches of the backsplash!
For more counter space, we bought and assembled a white kitchen island with an eat-in area on one side and black granite inset on the other.
A stainless steel dishwasher, stove, and range hood were installed. (We already had the fridge.)
Now, our kitchen looks amazing and we’re being very careful not to leave anything on the countertop to spoil its clean and shiny look.”
