Top Canadian Design Trends

Your home decor should reflect your taste – traditional, modern, contemporary to name a select few. With such a vast variety of home decor accents on the market, you may have difficulty finding what speaks to you. Or, perhaps you’re struggling to find inspirational ways to freshen up your decor without undertaking a major improvement project.

The 17th annual Interior Design Show wants you to be inspired by the top decor trends of this year from Canadian designers who will be featuring their work at the show from January 23 – 25, 2015. Here’s a taste of some of those trends. These designers make it easy to incorporate trends the from The Great White North into your home for an updated look and feel.

Clean Lines

Montreal designer Tat Chao has a flair for eclectic home decor and it shows in his designs. Each piece is made without glue or screws and assembled with special technics. Put one of these pieces in your home and make it a conversation-starter at your next dinner party.

Industrial

Industrial materials in a home? That’s right. They’re not just for construction. Lightmaker is re-purposing industrial materials to completely transform the way we see light fixtures. Stop by the booth at the show to see more of these industrial-inspired looks.

Concrete

When you hear the word concrete, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Cold, dull, grey by any chance? Renee Struthers of Winnipeg wants to break the lasting bad impression concrete has on most people and reinvent it in a whole new way. This designer draws on inspiration from landscape and culture to create this carefully crafted table.
