Take a look around and wear out the soles of your shoes at the 2013 Toronto One of a Kind Christmas Sale and Show. We checked out hundreds of Canadian artisans and took the time to figure out what we think this coming year’s trends will be!
DIY and arts and crafts are making a come back this year, especially products that are made in Canada. Having something “home-made” or made by hand is something that more and more homeowners are looking for when they are out seeking gifts and home decor.
Natural and Organic Materials
Not only are things going to be “home-made” they also need to be made from natural and/or organic materials. Cotton, wool, salvaged wood and recycled materials are both popular, in demand and environmentally friendly.
More and more homeowners are asking that their home decor and gifts be natural and be made without harmful chemicals.
Colour, Colour, Colour!
All the colours of the rainbow can be seen at the show. Outrageous oranges, peacock blues and vibrant reds can be seen in everything from paintings to clothes to home decor.
This show appeals to all the senses. From furs to woods to hand-knit scarves; texture is making a definite comeback, especially when it is combined with vibrant colours and natural materials.
