Woodpecker Kitchen Designs specializes in kitchen and home renovations, working on design plans with homeowners across the GTA. Over the last 22 years, this family-run company has grown within the industry through their dedication and commitment to new and returning customers that continue to call Woodpecker for their home improvement needs.
Designing a kitchen: it’s all about the client
Felix Munoz, designer and manager of Woodpecker Kitchen Designs spoke to us about joining his father – the president of the company – in the business. Munoz genuinely loves working with cabinetry products to create beautiful and functional spaces for people.
“We make sure it’s a workable, comfortable [space] for people to enjoy,” he says.
Munoz will personally meet with future renovators to discuss what they’re looking for when it comes to a new kitchen. “Clients have ideas of what they want but don’t know where to start,” he says. “This is where we come in.” Munoz will sit with homeowners, one-on-one in a free consultation and bring their vision to life, complete with diagrams of what their renovated space will look like. He wants clients to understand where their investment is going in the project.
“They spend so much money, they want to see the value,” says Munoz of a kitchen renovation. “This is what we’re here for.”

Don’t be fooled by Woodpecker’s business name
While the name suggests Woodpecker specializes in only kitchens, the company is involved in all aspects of residential renovations. Munoz says a majority of business comes through referrals from clients who have hired Woodpecker for previous projects, namely kitchens, and want to continue a working relationship with them.
“A kitchen, you might renovate once in your lifetime,” he says. But those same clients will call him years later for other projects. “They’ll say, ‘You did my kitchen five years ago. Now I want to do my laundry room, my bathroom. I kept your card.’”
The future is bright for Woodpecker Kitchen Designs – the company moved into its first showroom at 26A Scarlett Road in Toronto and is looking to expand its scope of work outside of the GTA, says Munoz.
Providing quality kitchen cabinetry from Canadian manufacturers and outstanding customer service – Munoz personally calls clients and meets with them – it’s no wonder Woodpecker Kitchen Designs is successful in developing lasting relationships with clients.
