Barry Padolsky Associates Inc., Architects is an Ottawa based architectural, urban design, and heritage consulting practice founded in 1969. The firm has won 28 national, provincial, and civic design awards of which 22 have been for heritage conservation. This small (seven persons) specialized architectural firm in Ottawa illustrates many of the characteristics and applications of small business management skills and of the concepts of organizational learning and intellectual capital development. Quite simply, but most importantly, the very nature of this kind of work is fundamentally intellectual. It requires high levels of technical skill, but also vision and creativity.
