Renewable Energy

Niagara Windpower’s President has been involved in the energy industry since 1984, working on many very large Industrial, Commercial and Institutional projects. In 1996, he formed the Welland Canal Power Corporation. After deregulation in May of 2002, the company was renamed Niagara Windpower Inc. to better serve the Niagara Region. From May 2002 to present the company has been constantly growing and expanding. It has become the exclusive dealer for a wide variety of products which include wind turbines, windmills, anemometers and solar products. Niagara Windpower Inc., not only markets the alternative energy products, but completely installs your units and educates most of the Niagara area through seminars, public speaking and environmental shows and fairs. In May of 2003 the company moved into its first location on Highway 20 - just west of Hwy 406. With several offices and a production shop it is able to handle the demand. On June 9th 2006, we hosted a Renewable Energy Summit in Niagara Falls to explain Standard Offer Contract. This Government project became the Feed-in-Tariff and Micro-Fit program that we all enjoy today. The inquiries have been phenomenal and the number of enthusiasts is constantly increasing. To address this need we have built a knowledgeable Team of Associates serving all of southwestern Ontario. Having accomplished over 150 installations, we have all the skills and knowledge you need to bring your project to a successful completion. Many of our installers are graduates of renewable energy college courses. Niagara Windpower Inc. is listed on the “Ontario Vendor’s List” making us one of the chosen vendors for supplying and installing renewable energy systems used by municipalities, schools, hospitals, and all Government and community buildings. In 2011, Niagara Windpower Inc. installed 6 small and medium wind turbines for Ryerson University, at a remote location, for the purpose of a renewable energy teaching lab (see our gallery for photos). Our friendly staff is happy to help with any questions you may have and please feel free to drop by our office for a renewable energy chat and a free cup of coffee.
