Since 1965 Palmer Construction Group Inc. has been serving Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding area with quality performance and leadership in the construction industry. Founded by Curt Damignani and Wilf Palmer in April of 1965 the company was originally known as Palmer Paving & Construction. In the early years Palmer concentrated on residential and small commercial grading and paving projects. In December of 1995 Terry Rainone was appointed President of Palmer Paving and Construction and began to grow the company, building on its solid foundations and reputation for quality and service. In 1999 Terry Rainone acquired all outstanding shares of the company and currently holds 100% of the company's shares. Branching out into sewer and water main construction, Palmer began tackling larger projects including the reconstruction of streets within the City of Sault Ste. Marie. To reflect the new focus and growth of the company the name was changed from Palmer Paving and Construction Ltd. to Palmer Construction Group Inc. In 2001, Palmer became a builder/dealer for Butler Manufacturing and has utilized Butler buildings in many of its construction projects from offices, to maintenance shops to self storage projects to airport hangar buildings. In 2003 Palmer purchased its own Asphalt Plant, a new plant built by the ADM Company in Fort Wayne Indiana. This added significantly to Palmer's abilities to bring quality construction products into the market. Palmer also owns 50% of a development company, McRain Developments Inc., which owns and leases buildings and has property available for future development. Whether your needs are for site work, sewer and water main construction, road building, commercial building construction or aggregates Palmer Construction Group Inc. can meet those needs with quality and superior performance.
