We build our custom windows predominantly in Western Red Cedar or Vertical Grain Douglas Fir. Each jamb is built a full 1 ½” thick, rabbeted, siliconed, and screwed and glued at the corners for maximum strength (no staples). One solid piece of Cedar or Fir is used for extra wide jambs, with the back scored to prevent cupping or warping. There is no laminating, no jamb extensions, and no finger jointed material. All sash are mortise and tenon jointed, glued and screwed, providing maximum strength and square alignment. The sash is easily removed for easy cleaning. Sash locks are standard on windows 3’6” and over in height to create not only a tight seal but added security. All openers are double weather stripped, one on the sash and one on the jamb. Any opening window comes complete with a screen that is removable from the inside.
