We have and continue to serve all the neighbourhoods of Toronto - Leaside, Forest Hill, Rosedale, North York, the Beach and others, as well as a new emphasis on gaining clients in Markham, Unionville and the surrounding areas. In September of 1956, my father, Tom Riley paid $500 as a down payment (I still have the cancelled cheque) for Ed's Window Cleaning to have an income that year of just over $2000. That was the beginning of Riley's Window Cleaning. He ran the business until 1991 when he suffered a debilitating stroke, at which time he handed over the reins to me. I changed the name to Rileys' Window Cleaning, making the name plural possessive keeping the feeling of a family endeavour, even though my father is no longer with us. I am proud of the history that the company has. We have one client that has only ever had us clean his windows and he has been in his home for 40 years! I received a phone call from a lady that had never called a window cleaner for her home, so she started with the man who had faithfully served her family home when she was young. She was looking for my father, but got me.
